More on Best Sports Betting

  • Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin are both fighting different opponents this weekend.
  • Fans have been calling for them to compete with each other for years.
  • Unfortunately, Canelo vs. Golovkin 3 does not seem likely to take place in 2021.

In 2017 and 2018, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin competed in two of the best fights of the past decade. One fight was a draw. The other was a close decision win for Alvarez. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that we will ever get to see Canelo vs. Golovkin 3 again.

These two men seem to be on separate paths now. In fact, both have massive fights scheduled to take place this weekend. Today, we’ll talk about what is preventing both of them to fight again.

Let’s get into it!

Odds on the Canelo and Golovkin Fights Are Available Online!

Many boxing analysts consider Canelo Alvarez to be the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. He’s lost just once in his career back in 2013 and has looked almost perfect ever since. Most recently, he earned a knockout win over Sergey Kovalev to capture the WBA, The Ring, and the WBC super-middleweight titles.

That win over Kovalev came back in November of 2019. Unfortunately, the Mexican knockout artist has been involved in a long legal battle against his former management team, Golden Boy Promotions. That dispute has since been settled and Canelo is now free to compete again.

This Saturday, Canelo is set to return to the ring against number-one contender, Callum Smith.

BetOnline, one of the best internet sportsbooks in the US, is offering some tremendous odds for each man. Canelo is currently listed as the -570 favorite. Smith comes in as the +450 underdog.

Gennady Golokvin is also slated to step back into the ring soon! At 38 years old, “GGG” wants to make every fight he takes count. He’s taking on Kamil Szeremeta tomorrow evening, a Polish knockout artist with a 21-0 record.

Gennady Golovkin is one of the best boxers in the world and comes into this fight as the -2750 favorite. Szeremeta is an exciting up and comer, yet he’s currently listed as the +1100 underdog in this one. This is almost guaranteed to be an all-action affair.

Canelo Vs Ggg 3 Date

Two of the most exciting middleweights on the planet are set to compete on the same weekend. Does that mean we could see a third fight between these men soon?

Don’t Expect to See Canelo vs. Golovkin 3 Anytime Soon

As we mentioned earlier, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin have competed against one another twice in the past. Both fights were incredible spectacles. After a draw the first time around, Canelo managed to win a close decision in the second bout.

Just about everyone wants to see these men compete again. Most consider them the two best middleweight fighters alive. Unfortunately, the sport of boxing is unorganized and getting the top fighters to compete with one another is never easy.

Ggg Vs Canelo Prediction

Gennady Golovkin spoke to the media this week about the third fight coming together. He claims that it may never end up taking place.

“I don’t think about this because I’m tired of thinking about it,” Canelo said during a recent interview. “It’s been over two years that we’ve been throwing this around. It’s not my fault that this fight has not taken place. Currently, it’s too early to say, but there is a possibility this fight might never happen.”

This is disappointing news to hear. Canelo vs. Golovkin 3 is one of the biggest possible fights to make at middleweight. Gennady seems to feel that this fight cannot come together due to Canelo, though. It’s unclear exactly what that means.

Perhaps things could change after this weekend. If Golovkin and Canelo both win their upcoming fights in impressive fashion, this could be a fight that comes together in late 2021. We’ll be sure to continue offering updates on this situation over the next few months!

Other Boxing Odds Available Online Right Now

This weekend will feature two incredible middleweight fights between world-class competitors. It’s the kind of fights that hardcore fans of the sport love. Interestingly, boxing has recently seen an increase in unusual celebrity fights.

The Paul brothers seem to be the root of this new trend. These YouTube celebrities have broken into the boxing game in a big way, despite having almost no real experience in the sport. Logan Paul is now set to take on the legendary Floyd Mayweather in February of next year.

To say this is unusual is an understatement. Regardless of that fact, this fight will take place and many are now choosing to wager on the results. Some feel the odds are offering a great opportunity to win big.

Floyd Mayweather went 50-0 as a professional and is considered one of the best boxers of all-time. It’s no surprise to see him come in as the -4000 favorite in this one. Logan Paul is 0-2 as a pro and enters this bout as the +1200 underdog. Even with Paul’s massive size advantage, almost no one expects him to get the victory.

Jake Paul is also pushing hard for a fight right now. He recently engaged in a controversial callout of current UFC fighter Conor McGregor. Fortunately, no one seems interested in taking a fight with the young, brash YouTuber.

It’s an interesting time for the sport of boxing. Do you think we’ll ever see Canelo vs. Golovkin 3? Let us know in the comments section below!
